SIBERIA

26 Mountain Summits with Prominence of 1,500 meters or greater

This list is the one of 20 lists for the Asian ultra-prominence mountains, corresponding to " " on the continental map.  Please come back for an upcoming reference map and page for Asia, and an upcoming map.

The geography of Russia bears explanation, as Russia's 65 ultra-prominent summits have been divided on three different lists on this site.  This page is intended to include all of the summits in the Russian Federation that are east of the Urals, but not including the Pacific Islands and Kamchatka.   Russian summits on peaklist.org in west to east order:

FOOTNOTES

Summits and saddles were largely derived from Russian topographic surveys at 1:100,000 and 1:200,000, and confirmed by comparison to SRTM analysis (for peaks below 60ºN.)  We strive to have the most accurate summit elevations in every instance.   Peaks north of 60º were found with the assistance of the GLOBE30 dataset, and confirmed by topographic map analysis.  Therefore we feel it is quite possible that we have missed one or two peaks north of 60º.    Very few of the Siberian highpoints are named on the topographic maps, so in most instances we have indicated the name of the range.  If you have better toponymic data, please let us know.
